As the venue for the 2016 New Zealand Women’s Stroke Play Championships, the demanding yet picturesque Christchurch Golf Club was the scene for some incredible women’s golf this month. The tournament, played over 4 stroke rounds and serves as a lead up event to the New Zealand Women’s Masters in April holds a long and impressive history, with past winners including USLPGA Champion, Lydia Ko in 2011.

With opening rounds of 72, 73 and 68 Kirsty stood on the first tee for the final round sitting alone in second place, 2 shots behind Chantelle Cassidy of New Zealand.

With both players demonstrating some spectacular golf in the final round, a rare mistake from Kirsty with finding water on 13, was to prove costly.

Undaunted,  Kirsty did not give up and played on to secure  second place outright, missing an opportunity to tie by just one shot. What an Amazing effort and demonstrates why we hold our Goodstart Ambassadors in such high regard.

With impressive and consistent rounds from Kirsty of 72, 73, 68,and 73 to finish on a total of 286, let’s not lose sight that’s an amazing 10 under par total.

From all at Goodstart, we congratulate Kirsty for following her dreams and creating another incredible milestone.
